Fireworks Schedule

The weather is supposed to be consistently in the low 80s and beautiful for the four day holiday weekend. Below are the scheduled fireworks and other Independence Day related events throughout Connecticut. If you have an event or know of a display, fair, or other event, send it to the Whisper – Enjoy the weekend!

Saturday July 2
Cornwall – Country barn dance from 7- 10 pm at Town Hall $5 adults, $3 children


Greenwich – beaches

Manchester- Manchester Community College with festival starting at 4 pm

New Milford – fireworks off of Ft. Hill Rd and Peagler Hill.

Putnam – Rotary Park on Kennedy Dr.


Salisbury – Lime Rock Race Track

Stafford – High School

Wallingford – Sheehan HS

Warren – over Lake Waramaug

Sunday July 3
Bristol – Lake Compounce. Can also view from Lincoln College in Southington

Bridgeport Seaside Park

Madison – West Wharf

Norwalk – Calf Pasture Beach

Stratford – Army Engine Plant, South lot

Waterbury – Municipal Stadium. Swing Shift concert at about 7 pm, fireworks afterward – POSTPONED TO MONDAY, JULY 4

West Haven – Bradley Point, area beaches

Monday July 4
Barkhamsted – PARADE! 10:30 in Pleasant Valley at 10:30 am

Bloomfield – Wintonberry Hills Golf Course

Colebrook – speaker Abraham Lincoln to speak at Colebrook Meetin House at 11 am, bike parade at 10:30

Columbia – Porter School on Schoolhouse Rd.

Fairfield – Jennings Beach & Penfield Beach

Litchfield – Ceremony hornoring Gov. Oliver Wolcott in East Litchfield Cemetary on Rt. 118 at noon. Cannon firing. A Pet Parade downtown at 2:30

Middlebury – Lake Quassapaug, 10:15 pm Parking $7

Naugatuck- High School, family entertainment starting at 6:45 pm

New Britain – Stanley Quarter Park

New Canaan – Waveny Park

New Haven – East Rock Park

Thomaston – Children’s parade at 10:30 on Perritt Dr.

Warren – Traditional Bell Ringing (bring one!) at Historical Society on Sackett Hill Rd. at 1:30

Washington – Shepaug HS (must pre-purchase parking tickets to be at the school)
Stephen Reich 5k Freedom Run – in memory of Washington native Stephen Reich who was killed in action in Afghanistan will begin at 9 am at Steep Rock. Anyone is welcome. Dogs, skates and bikes discouraged.

Weston – Middle School

Tuesday July 5
Darien – High School

Westbrook – beaches

Friday July 8
Norwich – Waterfront following band performance at 8 pm

Unionville section of Farmington
(Part of the Tunxis Hose Co. Fireman’s Carnival)

Saturday July 9
Beacon Falls – Pent Rd. complex. Shuttle busses from other locations to be provided
note: The Whisper attended this last year – a very fantastic and brilliant display!

Guilford – Fairgrounds

Lebanon – Town Green

Saturday July 10
East Lyme

Enfield – part of the Enfield festival going on all weekend

New London – Thames River

Saturday July 16
Newington – Mill Pond Park

Portland – fairgrounds on the CT River, band at 5 pm
