Town Council Adopts Summer Schedule

by LonSeidman

There will be no Town Council meeting tonight.

At its last meeting, the Council adopted an abbreviated summer schedule for July and August. Usually demand for action from the Council decreases during the summer while Council members are often more frequently absent to take personal vacations. “I think we underestimated our need last year, though,” Council Chairman Michael Santagotta told his colleagues last week as the schedule was proposed. “But we could always call for a special meeting if the need arises.”

Meetings will be held on July 19th and August 16th at 7:00 pm.
Meetings are usually on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 7:30 and the regular schedule will resume in September.

In 2010, special meetings were called to appoint a Board of Education member to fill a vacant position, work on revisions to the Town Charter, and allocate money to complete work being done at the library at the time.
