2011 Election Ballot

by LonSeidman

There are fifty two candidates running for seven offices this year. For some offices, you vote for two candidates, others three or six. (And more than that actually win, but that’ll confuse your job on Tuesday). You’ve seen the signs. Now here you can see where they are on the ballot.

Remember that in the last two elections, many offices have been decided by 7, 20, and 42 votes. As of this writing, not a single one has been counted. Our soldiers fought for this right – so do your research, and make sure you participate!

There are TWO sides to the ballot. Don’t forget to look at both!

Town Treasurer Challenged In Election

Treasurer Roger Levesque has been unopposed. “Why won’t someone run against me?” he sometimes laments.

This year he has his challenge.

Campaigning Concludes Today on Cable, Streets

by LonSeidman

Just after our town celebrated Halloween, the politicians will take to the streets and cable airwaves today.

On Comcast Channel 96, candidates for office addressed the public at last week’s Junior Women’s club forum at Tyrrell School. Each candidate had about 2 minutes to speak. Most spoke to their experience, some addressed campaign issues, and all talked about what they would like to do if elected. Be sure to tune in.

Row C Candidate Adam Hadir will be hosting a fundraiser at the Lebanese Club from 11 am – 2 pm.

If you hear honking down your street, its probably one of the two motorcades taking place by candidates today in the last day of campaigning. Row C candidates and the established parties will be taking to the pavement this afternoon. Democrats will begin their parade around 2:30 winding throughout neighborhood streets and Republicans will take another route beginning at 2 pm and conclude at the VFW with a pep rally supporting Mayor Dunn at 4 pm.
