Local Chocolate Factory Hosts Public

Fascia’s Chocolate’s, a local family owned company and retailer will open their doors to the public on Friday and Saturday from 10 am – 5 pm. “We’ll be opening the back doors up and people can see what its like,” said a spokeswoman referring to the 3700 square foot chocolate making operation.

DERBY — They are still shaking their heads over this one. James R. Butler was nominated by the Democratic Town Committee in July to run for re-election to the Board of Apportionment and Taxation. But somehow his son’s name ended up on the Election Day ballots — and he won.

News From The Pound: Trot & Nixon, the Brothers Like No Others

Hey, what’s going on?  My name is “Trot” and I’m in the Wolcott Dog Pound with my brother “Nixon”.  We are black lab mixes and want to be adopted together.  Sean and Joe, who feed me and care for us pounders, think that we are brothers but that’s our secret.  We are best friends and look alike.  We even have matching red collars.  I hope by the time this makes the Community News we have been adopted.  Thank God this pound is a no kill for adoptable animals.  I just love Wolcott!  Nixon and I once did a stretch in the city dog pound before and this pound is a country club compared to that place.  We get all kinds of food from the donation box Erin Ward put out for shoppers to fill Walsh’s IGA.  On behalf of the pounders, thank you!!
