Town Council Holds Record Meeting

by Christopher O'Brien

They gavelled in, then gavelled out. Wolcott’s Town Council was in session for a total of 6 minutes Tuesday evening, with little business being conducted. Even the Finance Officer and Mayor had nothing to report. The real reason the Council seemed to meet was to discuss a draft municipal contract behind closed doors in executive session. Details of that contract are expected to be discussed during open meeting at some point in the future. Executive session is allowed for certain personel matters as well as discussing the details of a contract up until the contract can be signed.
