Security is one of the leading features in Apple’s latest model iPhone, the 5S. Security experts say fingerprint technology is needed to protect the data on our phones, but getting users away from a PIN or password is a tough sell.

Smartphone users are already swiping pictures or typing a PIN to unlock their phone. With the new iPhone 5S you’ll just swipe your finger to unlock your phone and make purchases on iTunes.

Rash of Late Night Fires Considered Suspicious

Residents are urged to be extra vigiliant as dozens of  late night brush fires have been set along town roads over the last few months.

Wolcott Police and the town’s Fire Marshal are  investigating the cause of nearly 25 suspicious roadside fires, which have been growing in frequency since April.

Of the 25 roadside brush fires that have occurred in town since April 27, Wolcott’s police and fire departments consider the majority of them to be suspicious, according to Police Chief Edward Stephens.

“It’s not just thunder or lightening,” Stephens said.  “Something’s going on here.”

Connecticut will join New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont in deciding not to allow insurance plans canceled under the Affordable Care Act back into the marketplace.

“The truth is the solution offered a week ago by the president doesn’t work in Connecticut,” Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said Friday.

President Barack Obama offered last week to allow plans that didn’t comply with the Affordable Care Act back into the marketplace for a year, if states agreed.
