Deja Vu, a Munson Road store that refurbishes and repurposes a variety of items, Karen Zaleski reports that business has been very brisk. “We actually sell alot online than in the store – but there’s alot here. Their variety store has a little bit of everything ranging from knick nacks to snowboards; guitars to signs. Wherever you look, there’s often something new or different- and perhaps that pefect gift. In the back room are complete dining room sets, in the front, vases turned into birdbaths, artwork, and walking canes. Most of the items have been polished or made by Zaleski and her husband.

Other area stores, including Wolcott Power Equipment offer local customer service that compete against Lowes and Home Depot. Owner Jim Cosgrove All of the tractors, snowblowers, chain saws, mowers, and tractors are name brand Husqvarna .The equipment shop has been in busienss for over 20 years. And if you have a working machine that simply needs a sharpened blade, chain or repair, Cosgrove says they handle that too. “We do repairs inhouse and offer competitive prices.”
Several niche shops can only be found in Wolcott, including DD Western Wear and Tack. Cowboy hats, boots, chaps and a wealth of clothing could be the perfect gift for the growing number of country fans in Connecticut.
Sandy’s TV and Appliances also offers the largest available flat screen televisions, washers and dryers.
Granny’s Got It in the Samson Machine building on Wolcott Rd. offers dance and novelty items forgirls and women. Fabric is also available.
