Candidates Forum Thursday

vote boxDo you know who you’ll be voting for in November?
Every two years voters will renew or change the neighbors who represent them in town government, and this year is no exception. The Junior Women’s Club will host a “Meet the Candidates” forum Thursday, October 22nd in the Tyrrell School gym. The event is free and refreshments will be provided.

Current Mayor Tom Dunn is being challenged by petitioning candidate Stephen Olmstead.  All nine seats for Town Council and Board of Education will also be up for votes. Twelve candidates are seeking spots for each of those boards.

The event will be taped for future airings on WLCT96, the town’s internet feed.
At this time, the Wolcott Whisper does not plan on providing detailed candidate profiles as it had in the past. However, residents and candidates can submit letters for publication if they wish. You may e-mail them to WolcottWhisper (at) .

Residents are encouraged to get to know the candidates who will manage local tax rates and set educational curricula for our town’s school system. They say that “all politics is local” and that cannot be more true with the impact our local town government has on our quality of life for the next two years.
