Pawtoberfest 2013 to benefit Town Pound

A second annual PAWTOBERFEST to benefit the Wolcott Dog Pound’s medical fund will be held all day and evening Saturday. Last year organizers raised almost $9,000 which benefits the no-kill shelter. Several other animal rescue groups will also benefit.

The event to be held at Johnny B’s Bar and Grill on Meriden Rd. will include live music, beer, prizes for only $10 will start at 1 pm and continue until the bar closes after midnight.

Dog Park Fundraisers Planned

Plans to build a dog park next to Peterson Park are moving forward with three fundraisers this month.

The first will be on Friday Sept. 13th from 4-7 pm at Five Guys Flipping Pies on Wolcott Rd. A portion of all sales will go to the dog park.

On Sunday, Sept. 22nd a car wash will be held at Musco Fuel from 11 am- 2 pm. $5 donations per car will be accepted.

On Saturday October 19th the group will be sponsoring a bowling night at Wolcott Lanes. A $20 donation includes shoes and three games from 6:30-8:30 pm. Food and raffles will also be held.
