Townwide Christmas Party Tonight; Wonderland Sunday

Friday Dec. 7th -Mayor Dunn invites all town residents to celebrate the Christmas and holiday season tonight from 4-7 pm at the annual Townwide Christmas Party. Festivities will be at the Senior Center at 211 Nichols Rd. The Wolcott High School Jazz Band will perform.

Sunday Dec. 9th – The annual Winter Wonderland will be held from 11 am – 4 pm at the Lions’ Club property at 245 Wolcott Rd. Festivities include a special visit by Santa Claus, horse drawn wagon rides, music, hot dogs, treats, and hot chocolate and cider. When you arrive, feel free to stop at the Lions’ Annual Tree and Wreath Sale. Pick out your tree or wreath and tag it for later pickup or delivery.

Tuesday Dec. 11th – The Wolcott Knights of Columbus invite families and friends to their annyal Christmas celebration. This will be held in the St. Maria Goretti Church Hall. A catered buffet dinner with music and grab bag ($10) will be held. Please RSVP by Dec. 7th to Ray McDonald (879-9191) or Roland Dupre (879-3051).

Election Never Ends… Ballots Being Counted Again

Election moderators convened at Town Hall tonight to empty out bags of ballots to begin counting again. No, there isn’t a contested race from this month’s annual elections. Instead, tonight’s election audit is being conducted to make sure the new voting machines are working accurately. Since the introduction of the voting machines, state lawmakers have required that 10% of all voting precincts in Connecticut are audited to ensure accuracy. Wolcott’s voting district #1 was chosen as part of that audit.
